An intricate web of metal springs connect to a series of handmade ‘lures’ in Sasamoto’s Sounding Lines. A motorized arm whips the spring from time to time, sending a wave along and through the lure. Kitchen utensils in their bodies also shake. In performances, the floating objects are moved around and demonstrate different harmonic patterns seen in waves and in friendships.
